Ingredients
200g beef sirloin or ribeye, grilled and thinly sliced
1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
1/2 cucumber, thinly sliced
1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
2 cups mixed salad greens (like lettuce, arugula, or spinach)
1/2 cup fresh cilantro leaves
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
1 red chili, thinly sliced (optional for extra heat)
For the lime dressing:
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon fish sauce
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
1-2 red chilies, finely chopped (adjust to taste)
Execution
Grill the Beef: Season the beef with salt and pepper. Grill over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side, depending on how well done you prefer your steak. Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing it thinly.
Make the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together lime juice, fish sauce, brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and chilies until the sugar dissolves.
Assemble the Salad:In a large bowl, combine the mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, cilantro, and mint leaves. Add the thinly sliced beef on top.
Drizzle and Serve: Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently. Garnish with additional chili slices if you like it spicier. Serve immediately and enjoy the refreshing mix of flavors!
Additional tips
- Rest the beef: Letting the beef rest before slicing keeps it juicy and tender.
- Customize: Add ingredients like roasted peanuts, avocado, or crispy shallots for extra texture and flavor.
